In early 2018 I got a call from Nick Ailes who had just relocated to the Fresno/Clovis area from Illinois and wanted a steel player for a few gigs. He had just released his first solo album “Hearts & Wire”, a blend of Folk/Americana songs he had written and recorded while in Illinois. This gig turned into a great friendship with a talented songwriter and musician. After about 18 months Nick decided to leave California and moving to Tennessee. We have stayed in touch via text-messages and social media for the last couple of years and then a couple of months ago he sent a song he was working on that was different than his previous works, in that there was a full band with guitars, organs, drums with his usual great vocals and lyrics. His previous songs were much more acoustic folk/americana based.
So, to make my typically long stories shorter. Nick gave me the opportunity to listen to and master his works. To date he has recorded, mixed, and released three new songs with great instrumentation and lyrics and created videos that present his music and talent very well.
